Announcing the Elevate Program!
Happy Monday everyone! We have some AMAZING news!
This year we will be partnering with Utah's very own Ride 2 New Heights Program through the United Angels Foundation to offer a distinct category for students with special needs. This new category will allow us to enable even more Utah teens to strengthen body, mind, and character through cycling and we couldn't be more excited.
Ride 2 New Heights Bike Camp
Ride 2 New Heights Camp- June 8-12
The Ride 2 New Heights Camp is a bike camp hosted by the United Angel's Foundation and led by iCanShine, a group of trainers who teach children with special needs how to ride a bike. This program is for kids who currently do not ride a bike. For more information or to register your student. please visit the Ride 2 New Heights Website.
Steven and Sally Palmer, who are the directors of United Angel's, are bringing the program to Utah and partnering with the League to help us get even more kids on bikes. Steven and Sally are the parents of Elijah, a student on the Corner Canyon Team, who will doesn't ride a bike yet, helps as the team manager. They hope to help Elijah and other students get on bikes and experience the joy of riding.
If you are interested in volunteering, please email Steven.
The Elevate Team & Race Category
The Elevate Team will be formed of the students who attend the Ride 2 New Heights Camp or who want to participate in the races, but are not able to ride the High School or Jr Devo courses.
The Elevate students will be coached by Steven & Sally and the students will represent their own school while riding on an adapted course at the Soldier Hollow race. There will be 2-3 practices over the summer and the students will be encouraged to be involved with their school team like Elijah is with Corner Canyon.
If you or your student are interested in joining the Elevate Team, or if you have general questions about the Elevate Program, please email Rachel.
